04/15/2008 Top Podcast Tips to a Great Sound
What defines a good podcast? Make no mistake -- there is
a difference between a good podcast and a not-so-good podcast.
A high-caliber podcast is much more than just decent content.
The sound quality, and the way a podcast is recorded, will impact
the value of the podcast as well. Podcast structure and pre-planning
are also important; do not skimp on the production, as it too
can make or break a podcast.

04/14/2008 PodioBooks - Free Serialized Books on Your Schedule
Why are the books on Podiobooks.com free of charge?
Many authors do this to get exposure for their work, others
do it in the hopes you'll buy their next work in development.
Still others simply do it for the sheer joy of writing. And
while it's not required, you have the option to donate money
to the author of your choice. When you consider that audio books
run usually 50% more than their hardcover counterparts... we
hope you'll be generous. Authors receive 75% of all the proceeds
from the donations from listeners. The smaller portion goes
to the maintenance and upkeep of Podiobooks.com. |
04/09/2008 Avoid Duplicate Content Penalties
While it may still be debatable whether all the major search
engines currently employ a duplicate content penalty, all have
made it abundantly clear that they do not have any desire to
provide search results that rehash the same content over and
over. Actively avoid any potential penalties by taking a proactive
approach to building unique content.

04/08/2008 Podcasts Used for Book Promotion
Giving away books as podcasts is new way to promote sales.
But well before Sigler revealed podcasting as a new frontier
for book promotion, the San Francisco author was rebuffed hundreds
of times by major publishers. Siglers science fiction-horror
thrillers attracted little attention.
That changed in 2005, when he offered his first novel, Earthcore,
as a free, downloadable 22-episode podcast on iTunes and his
own Web site.. A few hundred early listeners soon swelled to
5,000. By the time he posted Ancestor and
The Rookie, his second and third books,
which he also narrated, he had 30,000 digital disciples.
