Production
and Use of Sound Effects in Podcasts
Sound effects are artificially created or enhanced sounds
that are used in artistic works to emphasize or express an action,
mood, or feeling. Sound effects were initially used in radio
dramas, but can be observed more often today in podcasts, theater,
films, and television shows. They are often synchronized with
certain actions, such as a door's slamming being accompanied
by the appropriate noise. Sound effects may also be used in
the background of a scene to create anticipation or other emotions.
Unsurprisingly, the most realistic sound effects tend to be
recordings of actual sounds. To create these sound effects,
the actual sounds that are recorded may also be edited or enhanced;
sometimes, the pitch, intensity, or another aspect of the sound
may be altered using software.

Promoting
Properties By Podcasts

a podcast to encourage people to come to your site? When done
well, can make a podcast listeners around the country, some
of them can generate valuable opportunities.
The Apple iPod has changed the face of Internet communication,
allowing users to create podcasts to download audio files that
can be speakers on almost any topic you can find care. Began
as a sort of audio blog, but people soon realized that there
was an audience for podcasts – the same with your favorite
radio shows often has a podcast they expect every month. Despite
its name, do not need an iPod to listen to a podcast – any
MP3 player will do.

How
Podcasts Conquered Comedy
Marons startling success is an extreme example of personal
and professional salvation before the altar of the podcast.
But it also illustrates how this relatively new digital media—which
allows audiences to stream and download anything from video
clips to audio interviews onto their computers and mobile devices—is
gradually transforming the culture and economics of comedy.

Podcasting
Drawing Listeners
While podcasting is no longer exactly cutting edge, the
numbers show the medium has grown increasingly popular among
consumers. According to the market intelligence firm Edison
Research, the percentage of Americans 12 and older who have
listened to a podcast has steadily increased from 10% in 2006
to 26% today, while one in six Americans has listened to a podcast
within the past six months.

Podcasts
as a Content Strategy
Every day we hear more experts preaching the gospel of podcasting
as a content marketing tool. It’s a very enticing sermon.
We get to have our own cute little pre-recorded radio show our
audience can listen to when they’re working out or driving
in the car.
But how is a podcast supposed to help grow our business?
In theory, podcasts create brand fanatics, people who are deeply
invested in who we are as people and as business professionals.
This is essence of long-form content marketing.
Every minute that a customer or prospect listens to us speak
with authority we’re establishing ourselves as a thought-leader.
Conceptually the more time our audience spends with our content
the more authority we have as content marketers.

Geek
History of the Podcast
But where did podcasting come from?
To answer this, think about what podcasting is, and how it differs
from mediums before it. A podcast is kind of like a radio show,
but it is not delivered (or intended to be listened to) at a
certain time. Instead, it’s automatically delivered to a listeners
device — thanks to RSS. It’s stored on their own hard drive
— thanks to compressed audio. And it is listened to on their
own schedule thanks to portable devices.

Transforming Media
Podcasts are still relatively new to this world, but over
the last decade or so they have really made an impact on the
way people listen to radio. As opposed to NPR, shock-jockeys
or even satellite radio SiriusXM, podcasts are pre-recorded
shows that can be stored on portable devices or computers, and
they are usually commercial-free. Relistenable and typically
inexpensive or free of charge, podcasts cover a wide array of
topics, genres, subjects and themes, meaning there is more than
likely a podcast out there for everyone to enjoy! Yep, even
adult male fans of My Little Pony!

Relevance
Some thoughts on why podcasting still has relevance and
passes on some tips.
As Apple celebrates one billion podcast subscriptions via iTunes,
is 'the day of the podcast' over? No. More people watch and
listen to podcasts every day, creating strong bonds and having
fun with brands, blogs, and their best friends online.

Podcasting
Remembered
Anyone who is anyone has a podcast these days, and they
are finding millions of listeners. iTunes now boasts 250,000
podcasts, up from 200,000 in 2010. iTunes, where podcasts began,
is about to get a new cousin in the fall, iTunes Radio, which
is billed as a way to get personalized radio -- such as Pandora
and Slacker -- to Apple consumers.

What
is Your Podcast Worth?
If I was to put together the top ten questions I get asked,
this would be one of them. You’ve been podcasting for a while
and the cost of doing it needs to be covered. Maybe you are
not in it to make a million, which you should not be but you
definitely want to treat the family to a steak dinner every
month.
Where do you start? Do you give everyone a flat rate and hope
someone bites? Once you get a sponsor, how do you keep them?
