Make
Your Podcast Standout
Podcasts are relatively inexpensive to create, as a result,
and the quality in published podcasts is extremely diverse.
Corporate podcasts can be very polished audio productions while
hobbyist experimenting with podcasts may have dogs barking and
children's screaming in the background.
After all it is the content that matters right? Well no, not
exactly remember when black and white televisions could kind
of tune into stations it was just a hazy effect.

What
is Podcasting?
Podcasting is quickly becoming a buzz word among the techie
crowd. So what is podcasting, anyway? Podcasting is online audio
content that is delivered via an RSS feed. Many people liken
podcasting to radio on demand. However, in reality, podcasting
gives far more options in terms of content and programming than
radio does. In addition, with Podcasting, listeners can determine
the time and the place, meaning they decide what programming
they want to receive and when they want to listen to it.

Sacred
Podcasting
Unlike TV or radio broadcasts, which require special equipment,
podcasts are popular, inexpensive recordings that can be listened
to via a church’s Web page. What makes a podcast so attractive
is its easy accessibility; that it can be downloaded onto a
smartphone or any other personal device and listened to whenever
the time is right.
Bill Johnson, director of educational technology at Concordia
Theological Seminary, 6600 N. Clinton St., where podcasts are
also used as an educational tool, says it is easy for a church
to begin podcasting.

Makes Strides In Advertising, Still Room To Improve In Measurement
As dynamic ad insertion becomes more accessible in podcasting
(Gimlet and Panoply also use the technology), a flood of new
inventory could lead to lower CPM rates.
Ad tech has broken down the monetization wall, but measurement
in podcasting remains a challenge. The key metric is number
of downloads, making it difficult to tell whether or not a user
actually listened to the podcast, let alone an ad.

Bridge
Ratings: Podcasts Continue to Gain in Popularity
Marketers are gaining more confidence in the platform. Over
the last five years the amount of money spent on podcasting
advertising has grown by approximately 25 percent with 2015
growth signaling an unusual year over year spike (+ 48 percent).
Cost-per-thousand values are tracking with increases as well.
Listening. While marketing has seen growth of 20+ percent over
the last five years, listeners have grown by around 8 percent
and the number of listening sessions has grown by 11 percent.
Listener Acquisition. Bridge has seen growth of the
podcast audience through five principle sources: Personality,
Cross promotion, Social Media buzz, traditional media, and list
positioning—in other words, presence in the iTunes top 10
list.
Podcast Pricing. Agencies and podcast buyers indicate
that pricing of podcast advertising is generally higher than
other media primarily due to listener retention, engagement
and response.

Podcasting
Dos and Do Nots
Consider following these simple podcasting tips to get the
most from your podcast and make it stand out from other podcasts
in the crowd.
DO
1. Make it Professional
Regardless of whether you are podcasting from your garage or
a corporate boardroom there is no reason that your podcast cannot
have a professional sound and feel. Use software to edit the
audio file and filter background noise. Listeners will not tolerate
poor audio quality. With the wide range of relatively inexpensive
software and hardware available there is no reason you can not
provide good quality audio podcast.

Podcasting
Can Be the Star in Your Marketing Tool Box
There are business podcasts, music podcasts, informative
podcasts, self-help podcasts, etc. If you can think of a potential
audience, there is likely a podcast for it. People listen to
podcasts at times when a video would be inconvenient, like while
walking, working out, or driving to and from work.
And podcasting has only been around for about seven or eight
years, so it is a relatively new invention. It has grown in
popularity largely because of the ease with which one can set
up a podcast show. You do not need much equipment or software
to get it done, and people always love to talk!
Podcasting is perfect for the business owner looking to attract
more customers by relaying relevant information, or the individual
looking to discuss political, religious, or even entertainment
topics to a wider audience.

How
This New Podcasting Platform Pulled Off The Perfect Product
Launch
n the world of technology startups, it seems many people
look to a few select sites to figure out what products are new
and exciting. Product Hunt is one of those sites. At the time
of this writing, Product Hunt has 4,007 products listed, 15,795
comments, 71,842 upvotes, and 29,021 subscribers from around
the world. So I was fascinated to see a company called Zula
generate as much engagement as they did during their launch
of their new product called ZCast.
