1. Make it Professional
Regardless of whether you are podcasting from your garage or a corporate boardroom there is no reason that your podcast cannot have a professional sound and feel. Use software to edit the audio file and filter background noise. Listeners will not tolerate poor audio quality. With the wide range of relatively inexpensive software and hardware available there is no reason you can not provide good quality audio podcast.

Why Start Your Own Podcast?
You might be asking how podcasts are different from radio shows. On a podcast, you will often hear information and music that you usually can not find anywhere else. They are often aimed at niche audiences. Though some podcasts are distributed live like radio shows, many are not. 2017: Another Year for Podcasts?
While the past decade will no doubt be characterized by the rise of Twitter, Facebook, and Snapchat, there’s another form of media gaining a steady following, especially among millennials: podcasts. Podcasting, or audio blogging as it was called in the early days, has been around since the 1980s but took off with the rise of the iPod and versatile MP3 audio format. Since then, podcasting remains on the rise. According to Mother Jones, a third of the podcasts listed on iTunes appeared after 2014, and according to an Edison Research survey, 21 percent of Americans reported listening to podcasts monthly in 2016, up from 17 percent in 2015. The popularity of podcasts has grown for a variety of reasons.

Spotify gets into podcasting with three music-themed shows
Spotify dipped its toes into podcasting in 2015 by adding pre-existing programs to its lineup. Now it's getting into content creation and rolling out its own shows. The company is launching three original podcasts, and it says that is just the start.
The first of the new programs, Showstopper, is available now and features The Fader editor in chief Naomi Zeichner talking with music supervisors from TV shows like Stranger Things and Scrubs. The bi-weekly podcast offers commentary and insight on noteworthy music moments in television history.
